Take the case of public education alone. The principal difficulty faced by the schools has been the tremendous increase in the number of pupils. This has been caused by the advance of the legal age for going into industry and the impossibility of finding a job even when the legal age has been reached. In view of the technological improvements in the last few years, business will require in the future proportionately fewer workers than ever before. If you know exactly what you want, the best route to a job is to get specialized training. A recent survey shows that companies like graduates in such fields as business and health care who can go to work immediately with very little on-the-job training.That's especially true of booming fields that are challenging for workers. David Birch claims he does not hire anybody with an MBA or an engineering degree. “I hire only liberal-arts(文科)people because they have a less-than-canned way of doing things,’’ says Birch. If you want to teach your children how to say sorry you must be good at saying it yourself, especially to your own children.
